You twenty-first century fools!
A walk across a silver pathway
A butterfly flaunts it’s naked essence across a stream
They spend the night together,
reality tears apart at the seem
The sun corrupts the rain
The night disrupts the mind
Work takes on a new meaning,
all of every world appears supremely fine
The fluttering voice hints of transference
but she espouse’s she, ‘doesn’t know the meaning’
Answers arrive in the form of more questions,
they delude themselves into repeating, ‘gee ain’t we dreaming’
They really cannot converse with one another
They really begin to shout
Neither one knows each other
or anything they’re about
Confusion leads to sadness
and after anger there’s only regret
They’ve separated in the most distressing of ways
with the sharpest of gauging and tangible death threats
They’ve given nothing of themselves away
There’s only themselves to blame
but come next friday night
they know they’re doing the same
