Songs for slaughtered lovers

When you sing

When you sing beauty are the words

Shunning static parallel lives,

Pure, chastened spirit thrives

Fragile fertility loose are the seas

Caught in the whirl of ancient melodies

Beauty in bed, beauty in the performance

Beauty in the everyday, beauty clothed and dormant

Secretly, softly quietly hum the birds

When you sing beauty are the words…

For those who cannot sing

Smiling enchanted red lips

Give and brush away our familiarity

Smoky hazed room, slim hips

charm token eyes of clarity

Beauty as the oddity

Bought and released

as the timeless commodity

Forgoing our remembrance

briefly briefly, flutter away

our fatal fears of finality…

Cherry blossom streets stretched our hearts

The flow of time twists, stop-starts

Cannot stand still, twitching when apart
