His daughter ran inside, humming to herself, opened the door before pirouetting, nearly knocking over an imitation moorcroft vase.

Dennis studied.

The dent in his wife’s car was minimal. A swift kick to the bonnet could have caused more damage in the correct steel toe capped shoes.

“There’s fuck all wrong with it.” He said after pecking his wife on the cheek.

“What? Oh the car. I was so scared though, look at my hands. They’re still trembling.”

Pause.

“Oh right,” he said walking up the stairs one at a time, unhinged his tie, his shirt then trousers before slipping into bed.

After Dennis had done the filth to Jim he felt no dirtier than he did yesterday or any of the days before. He had provided for his family.

“Who should Jim be replaced with?”one of them asked plainly.

Again, most of life’s truths mysteries and myths had to be conveyed in a look, a gesture, something more than the every day fodder for the masses. A certain type of style if you will.

So, what did he reply?

“Well that’s up to you guys isn’t it.” He replied coyly.
